Q:Where can I find Seniornet South
A: At the Southland Education Building (Old WEA Building) 100 Esk
Street, Invercargill. Use the white doors on the eastern side of the
building (next to car park) and follow the signs to go to the Seniornet
rooms. Our rooms are on the ground floor with level access.
Q: Who runs Seniornet South
A Seniornet South is a completely voluntary organisation
provided to assist senior citizens to learn to use computers. We have no
paid staff
Q: Do I have to be a member to take a course
A Yes - Membership is $30.00 for the first year and
$20.00 renewal for subsequent years. A membership year is the
anniversary of the joining date.
Q: What does each course cost.
A The price for each course ranges from $20 for a 4 week course to
$30 for a 6 week course - $40 for an 8 week course. Both the
Internet and Drawing and Publishing in Word courses cost $45. -
Paying your course fee at the time of booking confirms your place.
Q: How long is each course.
A Each course runs for two hours per session and usually on
the same day and time of the week. A break is taken halfway
through each session for coffee/tea.
Q: Can I select my own course time.
A Generally yes, although while we do our best to
accommodate your first choice this is not always possible. Some
subjects are also at specific times depending on the availability of the
tutors and student demand.
Q: Are evening sessions available
A Evening sessions from 7.00pm to 9.00pm may be available
depending on tutor availability and student demand. A course is
currently available on Tuesday evenings.
Q: What are the course times
A During the day course times are: Monday, Tuesday and
Wednesday 9.30am to 11.30am - 1200pm to 2.00pm - 2.30pm to 4.30pm
Thursday 9.30am to 11.30am - 12.00pm to 2.00pm (E-mail) 2.30pm to 4.30pm
and 4.45pm to 6.45pm.
Q: Can I use the facilities at other times
to practice.
A Yes. Practice times can be arranged 'free of charge'
but are subject to computer availability. (Formal tutoring not included,
but advice will available)
